Horizon Node Operation

This guide will walk you through the process of becoming a Horizon Node operator and maintaining your node.

Becoming a Node Operator

To become a Horizon Node operator, follow these steps:

  1. Purchase a Node License Key:

    • Participate in our Node License Key Sale.
    • You need at least one Node License Key to operate a node and earn rewards.
  2. Prepare Your Hardware:

    • Ensure your hardware meets the minimum requirements (to be specified closer to launch).
    • A stable and fast internet connection is crucial for optimal node performance.
  3. Download and Install Node Software:

    • The VEMP Horizon Node software will be available for download post-launch.
    • Detailed installation instructions will be provided at that time.
  4. Configure Your Node:

    • Follow the configuration guide (to be provided) to set up your node correctly.
    • Ensure your Node License Key is properly linked to your node.
  5. Run Your Node:

    • Start your node and begin participating in network operations.
    • Monitor your node's performance regularly.

Maintaining Your Node

To ensure optimal performance and maximize your rewards:

  1. Keep Your Node Active: Your node must be active to accumulate rewards. Consistent uptime is crucial.

  2. Regular Updates: Stay informed about software updates and apply them promptly.

  3. Monitor Performance: Regularly check your node's performance metrics and address any issues quickly.

  4. Security Best Practices: Follow cybersecurity best practices to protect your node and Node License Keys.

Delegating Node Operations

For enhanced security, you can delegate node operations to a different wallet than the one holding your Node License Keys:

  1. Use a "cold wallet" to store your Node License Keys securely.
  2. Set up a "hot wallet" for day-to-day node operations and reward collection.
  3. Follow the delegation process (to be detailed closer to launch) to link these wallets.
