Frequently Asked Questions

What is VEMP Horizon?

VEMP Horizon is a rollup designed by VEMP to enhance blockchain gaming with scalable, low-cost infrastructure. It supports community-driven, player-owned gaming economies and simplifies on-chain game development for indie studios. Horizon offers similar functionality to networks like Ethereum and Arbitrum, but with cheaper and faster transactions.

What makes Horizon unique as a gaming rollup?

Horizon is specifically designed for indie and smaller game developers, offering:

  1. Scalable and cost-effective infrastructure for on-chain assets and economies
  2. Full EVM compatibility for easy integration
  3. Near-zero gas fees, making it accessible for players
  4. Reliable transaction processing with 99% uptime
  5. Ethereum-level security as an Arbitrum Orbit chain

These features allow smaller studios to compete with larger ones in the global gaming market.

Why do I need $VEMP to use Horizon?

$VEMP is the native currency for transactions on Horizon. It powers the network, facilitating transactions and incentivizing validators to maintain security.

How can I view my $VEMP balance?

To view your $VEMP balance:

  1. Connect your wallet to the official Horizon mainnet.
  2. Most wallets have a network switcher in their settings.
  3. Once connected, your $VEMP balance will be displayed in your wallet.

For detailed setup instructions, please refer to our Getting Started guide.

How can I check the status of my transaction?

You can check the status of a transaction via the official Horizon block explorer. Simply enter your transaction ID in the search bar to view detailed information about the transaction.

What happens if I send VEMP to an unsupported exchange?

Sending $VEMP to an exchange that doesn't support Horizon may result in lost funds. Contact the exchange's support team for potential recovery options.

What is a VEMP Horizon Node?

A VEMP Horizon Node is a computer running the VEMP Horizon software that helps maintain the network's security and performance. Nodes verify transactions, store blockchain data, and participate in the consensus process.

What is a Node License Key?

A Node License Key is a unique, non-fungible token (NFT) that authenticates verified node operators on the VEMP Horizon network. It's required to operate a node and earn rewards.

How many Node License Keys are available?

There is a total supply of 20,000 Node License Keys.

When will Node License Keys become transferrable?

Node License Keys will become transferrable six months after the network launch.

Can I mint Node License Keys with a different wallet address than the one I want to use for operation?

Yes, you can specify an alternate wallet address for minting. The node key mint process will support specifying different wallets for minting and operation.

Can I delegate node operations to a different wallet than the one holding my Node License Keys?

Yes, Node License Keys support delegation to an operator wallet. This allows you to operate your node and receive rewards using a hot wallet while keeping the actual Node License Keys in a cold wallet for enhanced security.

What benefits do network validators receive?

Network validators on Horizon enjoy several benefits:

  1. Financial rewards, including a share of all network transaction fees
  2. Participation in network governance
  3. Exclusive access to VEMP-built applications
  4. Partner incentives such as airdrops and whitelists

These incentives encourage active participation in maintaining the network's integrity and performance.

What happens if my node is not active 100% of the time?

Rewards are calculated based on your node's active participation. If your node is not active, it will not earn rewards for that period. However, you can resume earning rewards once your node becomes active again.

How often are rewards distributed?

The exact distribution schedule will be announced closer to the network launch. However, you can expect regular distributions, likely on a monthly basis.

Are there any geographical restrictions for node operators?

There may be restrictions in certain jurisdictions due to local regulations. Please check our Compliance page for more information.
